Elina Nissinen (b. 1991) is a visual artist working with clay and paint but also with other materials, people, and spaces. They are fascinated by questions on relationalities, narrativity, and meaning-making, as well as the overlap of intersectional approach with the matter(s) and manifestations of magic.
Iida Nissinen (b. 1991) is a multidisciplinary artist and curator. Currently Nissinen studies avatars, doppelgängers and eco-gothic sensualities. They work with a variety of materials, elements and situations from text, bioplastics, and ceramics to bodies and social compositions.
Nissinens share but a life lived side by side, also an interest in vibrant materiality, magic in the mundane, and the agencies of the invisible world at large. Phantasma is their first joint exhibition as a duo.
