ULLA PRAMI
MADWALK
6min 48s, 2005

MADWALK is a cityscape study of Madrid that explores the differences in the atmosphere of different neighborhoods. The short film was created as a student project during my exchange student year at ETSAM in Madrid and was originally shown as part of the Dibujo Avanzado group exhibition in the school's gallery space.

SOFIA NIEMINEN
How’s Peter
17min, 2023

A video piece in which the artist, in the middle of nowhere at night, smoking cigarettes, delves into memories and reflections on the relationship between father and daughter.

WANDA HOLOPAINEN
Dear diary
16 min, 2024

The short film explores the complexities of intimacy amidst societal constraints and a politically charged atmosphere in Ghana, during the introduction of criminalizing legislation. The short film delves into the nuances of navigating personal connections within this heightened environment, while urging viewers to learn from the perspectives of the global south. Through a narrative crafted from text message encounters, we challenge the gaze through which societal issues are often viewed, prompting reflection on alternative viewpoints and the need for empathy in understanding diverse experiences. Dear diary is part of the ‘Would I see the colours differently?’ exchibition installation at the Finnish Photography Museum.

PIHLA TÖRRÖNEN, ILMI PENKKALA, PEIK RANKO & OSKAR LILJEBLAD
Saastuneiden maa
13min, 2023

Saastuneiden maa (The Land of the Contaminated) deals with the themes of ritual, aimless wandering, adventure and epicness. In the mostly improvised work, we tried to blur the line between ourselves and hopefully others as well when we act and create so-called fiction. There is no plot in the work, except the search for the vague. We cut the video material to a finished soundtrack, which creates a music video-like atmosphere. In the film, we move through the landscapes of the peaks of Uutela and Vuosaari.

SARA TAMMI
h-aave
13min, 2023

H-aave is a fragmentary experiment that combines times, places and ideas in a freely associative, intuitive and avoiding linear way. The work consists of personal archives; of image, text and audio materials accumulated over a few years, which connect to each other while forgetting their temporal and local relationships. The work ponders whether all times and places still talk to each other, even in their isolation, when they are brought together in this way. Even if the whole does not seek to create an explainable understanding, does some inexplicable whole emerge from the fragments?

KRASIMIR JOVANOVIČ HYVÄRINEN
modern nightmare
3min, 2024

A nightmare in the railway station while sleeping.
A network put together of recordings on phone throughout the years by means of free association and experimenting.

VILI JÄRVINEN

Ikiliikkujan ilta
2min 30s, 2024

Someone would argue that time goes forward / passes / flows / crawls / runs. Stupid stupid stupid. Or well. Maybe so, maybe like this. But when you think about which direction it is aiming with these movements, it is in every direction and nowhere. It seems that time is like other phenomena that occur in nature and works like energy, planets, genetics, the spiritual essence of each of us... Everything spins in place, no matter how hard you try. Realizing this is a process that takes a long time until you learn to accept it, appreciate it and enjoy it. WELCOME TO STUCK IN
